Sweeny High School National Honor Society 13th Annual Bulldogs for a Cure raised $1,200 for the Sweeny Community Hospital Development Foundation's Mammo Project. Bulldogs for a Cure features specially curated shirts sold throughout the community to help raise awareness and funds for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Every 1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime. Early detection is vital in survival rates. The Mammo Project assists patients financially in obtaining mammograms and other related diagnostics.

"We are delighted that Sweeny High School National Honor Society has chosen the Mammo Project for their donation. This donation allows us to help those in our immediate community and change lives. Last year we were able to help 63 women. The donation from Sweeny High School NHS enables us to expand our impact," said Kari Schroeter, Executive Director of the Sweeny Community Hospital Development Foundation.

"On behalf of the National Honor Society, I'd like to thank the school district, the hospital employees, and community members for their continued support of our Dogs for a Cure project each year. It is a blessing to help make a difference in the lives of those in our community," stated Christi Wesley, National Honor Society Advisor.
