Btel Connects Sweeny High School GATA Network to Innovative Online Learning Experiences

Sweeny High School’s GATA Network recently received a $5,000 donation from Btel. This donation will support students in the GATA Network with the purchase of a new laptop and a software program to improve the success of their live broadcasts for both school and district events. Btel equips and connects Brazoria County with unrivaled service and next-gen technology.

“Words cannot express how proud I am of both the students and teachers of the SHS GATA Network. Last Spring, students within our A/V pathway started this program by live streaming baseball and softball games, which in return created the opportunity for our students to provide our community a firsthand account of our Lady Dogs Softball state tournament journey. Since then, the GATA network has provided live streaming of other events such as student performances, award ceremonies, band/choir concerts, and graduation. Thanks to this donation, our students now have cutting-edge technology at their fingertips. I am beyond excited with what the future holds for the GATA network and the learning opportunities this program will continue to provide for our students,” said Tyler Rowlett, Sweeny High School Principal.

The donation funds from Btel will allow the GATA Network to continue improving its broadcasting through technology. As a result of receiving this generous donation, Sweeny High School will be able to connect the community to events through online broadcasting and streaming. This donation will continue to inspire Sweeny ISD students, staff, and the community to engage in quality learning experiences through online and digital communications.
