Sweeny ISD strives for academic excellence in our district and community. As we continue to move forward with continuous improvement, we are pleased to announce new interim administrative leaders who will continue to bring positive outcomes and support to Sweeny ISD.
Matthew Way will join the Sweeny Elementary team as the new interim Principal. A former Sweeny Elementary team member, Mr. Way’s positive leadership and guidance will create a welcoming environment for continued excellent learning experiences for students and support for staff who accomplish great things. Mr. Way’s return to Sweeny Elementary will move the campus forward in a positive direction, and we look forward to the future success of its students and staff.
During Mr. Way’s transition to Sweeny Elementary, we are pleased to announce that David Smothers will fill in the role of interim Assistant Principal at Sweeny High School and continue his duties as the Director of CTE and CCMR.
These new transitions with Mr. Way and Mr. Smothers will bring vibrancy, exceptional educational experiences, and commitment to excellence to Sweeny ISD students, staff, and faculty.
